Chandigarh, March 2, 2026: Mohan Lal Baroli, State President of Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP) in Haryana, described the state budget presented by Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini as a roadmap toward building a developed, empowered, and self-reliant Haryana.
He said the Chief Minister had presented a public-friendly budget of over Rs 2.23 lakh crore, which would accelerate the pace of development in the state.
Calling it a comprehensive welfare-oriented blueprint, Baroli stated that the budget focuses on the empowerment of farmers, youth, women, students, and every section of society.
Mohan Lal Baroli said the budget is focused on inclusive growth:
Mohan Lal Baroli said the budget lays a strong foundation for inclusive development, ranging from poverty alleviation to industrial promotion.
According to him, the financial plan maintains a balance between rural development and urban modernization, while also presenting a detailed roadmap for employment generation, skill development, and start-up promotion.

Mohan Lal Baroli added that the budget is forward-looking and aims to prepare Haryana for a digital, green, and innovation-driven future.
Highlighting fiscal discipline, Mohan Lal Baroli claimed that the government spent 98 percent of the previous budget in public interest and that the current budget is 10.28 percent of the previous budget interest and that the current budget is 10.28 percent higher than the previous one.
Mohan Lal Baroli said several farmer-centric initiatives were announced, including beekeeping under the horticulture insurance scheme, an increase in compensation for vegetable crop damage to Rs 50,000, restoration of 1 lakh acres of barren land cultivation, promotion of a new organic farming scheme, and creation of a new electricity corporation to facilitate easier tube well connections.
Mohan Lal Baroli said more than a dozen announcements were made to boost farmers’ income and self-reliance.
Women’s empowerment measures:
Calling it a historic step toward women’s empowerment, Mohan Lal Baroli highlighted that the Deputy Chief Minister will open 2,000 new Vita booths, with 20 percent reservation for women’s groups. The scope of Lado Laxmi Yojana has been expanded to Rs 1.80 lakh. A one percent tax exemption on vehicle purchases has been granted to women under the Har Nari Swasth Nari initiative. Swasth Nari Clinics will be established in every district to provide free medicines and check-ups.
For students, the government has allocated Rs 200 crore to provide double desks in all schools, replacing floor seats.
Under the Super 100 scheme, the number of seats has been increased from 400 to 500 to expand educational opportunities for meritorious students.
Mohan Lal Baroli also noted that new sports stadiums will be built in 12 districts, and a Khelo India Centre will be established in each district to promote sports talent.
In addition, the government announced the opening of five new ESI dispensaries to ensure proper healthcare for workers and their families.
Provisions have also been made to support the education of workers’ children.
Mohan Lal Baroli concluded by thanking Nayab Singh Saini for presenting what he described as a comprehensive and welfare-oriented budget aimed at strengthening Haryana’s growth trajectory.
