Nitish Kumar launches Rs 391 crore development projects in Madhubani during Samriddhi Yatra.

Patna, January 27, 2026: Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on Tuesday reached Madhubani district as part of the second phase of his Samriddhi Yatra (Prosperity Journey) and inaugurated and laid the foundation stone for development projects worth Rs 391 crore, giving a major push to infrastructure and public welfare in the region.
During the visit, the Chief Minister laid the foundation stone for 101 projects worth Rs 298 crore and inaugurated 294 completed projects worth Rs 93 crore.
These initiatives are expected to provide fresh momentum to the overall development of Madhubani district.
Nitish Kumar interacted with the people of Madhubani:
As part of the Samriddhi Yatra, Nitish Kumar held a public dialogue near the Durga Temple in Araria Sangram Panchayat, where he interacted directly with residents and listened to their concerns and suggestions.
He also conducted a review meeting with district officials, directing them to ensure the timely completion and quality implementation of ongoing development works.

During the tour, Nitish Kumar inspected the newly constructed Panchayat government building in Araria Sangram village, reviewed a renovated pond developed under the Jal-Jeevan Hariyali (Water-life-greenery), inaugurated the Jeevika Bhavan, visited Jeevika and other departmental stalls, and distributed cheques to beneficiaries of various government schemes.
He also inaugurated and laid foundation stones for several additional development projects across the district, aimed at strengthening grassroots governance and improving livelihoods.
Focus on social security:
Addressing the gathering, Nitish Kumar highlighted various government schemes, including social welfare and noted that the social security pension ensures greater dignity and financial security for beneficiaries.

Nitish Kumar’s visit to Madhubani marked another significant milestone in the ongoing Samriddhi Yatra, reinforcing the state government’s focus on inclusive growth, rural infrastructure, and livelihood generation across Bihar.
During the occasion, Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary, JDU National Working President Sanjay Kumar Jha, Water Resource Minister Vijay Kumar Choudhary, cabinet minister Leisy Singh, Sheela Kumari Mandal, and other leaders and bureaucrats were present.
