New Delhi, January 24, 2026: Minister of State for Communications and Rural Development, Dr. Pemmasani Chandra Shekhar, today addressed a job fair at the ITBP Recruit Training Centre (RTC), Sivaganga, Tamil Nadu, reaffirming the Central Government’s commitment to employment generation and youth empowerment.
During the event, appointment letters were handed over to 148 candidates selected across various central government organizations.
Addressing the gathering, Dr. Chandra Shekhar said that the job fair was not merely about distributing appointment letters, but about providing dignity, opportunity, and a pathway to nation-building.
He emphasized that each appointment symbolizes trust in the country’s youth and their role in strengthening India.
Pemmasani Chandra Shekhar emphasized youth-centric development:
Pemmasani Chandra Shekhar said that under the visionary leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, and guided by the mantra of ‘Sabka saath, Sabka Vikas, sabka Vishwas aur Sabka Prayas,’ India is undergoing a historic transformation.

He noted that flagship initiatives such as Skill India, Make In India, and Digital India have laid a strong foundation for youth to succeed in both traditional and emerging sectors.
Pemmasani Chandra Shekhar added that job fairs like this are a key step in empowering young Indians with meaningful employment opportunities, enabling them to contribute productively to the nation.
Tamil Nadu: a hub of talent and innovation:
Highlighting Tamil Nadu’s contribution to national development, Pemmasani Chandra Shekhar described the state as a major hub of talent, skill, and innovation.
He noted that Chennai contributes over 10 percent of India’s automobile exports, while the IT sector employs more than six lakh professionals.

He further said that skill development and entrepreneurship initiatives in the state have enabled thousands to convert aspirations into sustainable livelihoods, and the job fair carries forward this legacy of empowerment.
Rozgar Mela and employment milestones:
Pemmasani Chandra Shekhar informed that under the Rozgar Mela initiative, over 10 lakh appointment letters have been distributed across the country so far. Under the current phase alone, more than 51,000 jobs are being provided nationwide.
He urged newly appointed candidates to seize the opportunity to learn, grow, and serve the nation, and play an active role in making India a global superpower.
Pemmasani Chandra Shekhar highlighted India’s robust economic progress, marked by a thriving startup ecosystem, expansion of manufacturing, and rapid digital innovation.

He said that reforms such as PM Mudra Yojana, ease of doing business, and vocal for local have strengthened local industries and entrepreneurship.
In the telecommunications sector, the Production Linked Incentive (PLI) scheme has led to the creation of 25,000 manufacturing jobs and exports worth Rs 13,000 crore, reflecting India’s growing global competitiveness.
On national security, the Minister stated that India has transitioned from import dependence to self-reliance in defense manufacturing, generating high-skilled jobs while strengthening border security. Increased defense spending, indigenous production, and improved infrastructure have also enhanced the welfare of soldiers.
Vision 2047: growth with dignity:
Calling upon the newly appointed candidates to contribute towards the vision of a developed India by 2047, Pemmasani Chandra Shekhar emphasized the values of transparency, speed, and empathy in governance.
He said the job fair reflects India’s confidence in its youth and its commitment to inclusive and dignified national progress.

He concluded by stating that India’s growth is collective, ensuring that development reaches every section of society with opportunity and respect.
