Patna, January 16, 2026: Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on Friday launched the Samriddhi Yatra (Prosperity Journey) from Bettiah, the district headquarters of West Champaran, with an aim of reviewing the progress of development projects and welfare schemes across the state.
Accompanied by Deputy Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary, the Chief Minister reviewed various ongoing and completed development projects.
A major event in this connection was organized at Ramna Ground in Bettiah.
The objective of this journey is to accelerate development works and elevate Bihar into the category of the most developed states in the country. Thereby improving the quality of life of its people,” Nitish Kumar said.
Nitish Kumar laid the foundation stone of 125 projects:
Providing details of the first day of the Yatra, Nitish Kumar said that he laid the foundation stone for 125 developmental projects worth Rs 153 crore and inaugurated 35 projects worth Rs 29 crore in West Champaran district.
He also inspected the Chanpatia Industrial Area in Kumarbagh, interacted with entrepreneurs, and directed officials to extend all possible support to investors.
The Chanpatia Industrial Area is emerging as a strong industrial hub,” Kumar noted.

During the review meeting with the district officials, the Chief Minister assessed the implementation of development projects and welfare schemes being executed by various departments and instructed them to ensure timely completion with commitment and sensitivity.
After the official review, Nitish Kumar participated in a public interaction program at Ramna Ground, where he inaugurated and laid the foundation of several projects and interacted with local residents.
The Samridhi Yatra has been launched following the NDA’s decisive victory in the Bihar Assembly election held in November 2025.
As part of the Yatra, the Chief Minister will visit all districts of Bihar to review development works and inaugurate or lay foundation stones for new projects.
