Lalu Prasad Yadav and the Bihar governor get a warm reception:
Tej Pratap Yadav had personally visited Rabri Devi’s residence a day earlierto invitehis parents and younger brother Tejashwi Yadav, the Leader of the Opposition in the Bihar Assembly, to the Makar Sankranti celebration.
Accepting the invitation, Lalu Prasad Yadav was among the first senior leaders to arrive at the event.
Bihar Governor Arif Mohammad Khan also attended the feast and shared a cordial exchange with Lalu Prasad Yadav.
Tej Pratap’s maternal uncles, Prabhunath Yadav, Sadhu Yadav, along with Chetan Anand, were also present.
Several leaders from different political parties attended the gathering, giving the event both social and political significance.
The event has gained further attention as Tej Pratap Yadav has extended invitations to senior BJP leaders as well.
A day earlier, he had attended a Dahi-Chura feast at the residence of Deputy Chief Minister Vijay Kumar Sinha, fueling speculation about possible political realignments.
Political observers believe the large-scale celebration may be an attempt by Tej Pratap to consolidate his independent political standing ahead of potential future decisions.
Tejashwi Yadav’s absence noted:
Despite the visible warmth between Lalu Prasad Yadav and Tej Pratap Yadav, Tejashwi Yadav had not arrived at the event till 12.30 PM, drawing attention from political circles.
However, the two brothers had met the previous day, during which Tej Pratap Yadav was seen affectionately holding Tejashwi Yadav’s daughter, a moment that was widely viewed as a sign of improving family ties.
Reacting to the event, Tej Pratap Yadav said, “I got the blessings of my father.”
When asked about Tejashwi Yadav, who has not come till now, he said, “He is my younger brother, and he woke up late, so he may come late to the event.”
The Dahi-Chura feast, traditionally symbolic of unity and renewal, has thus become a focal point of Bihar’s political discourse, with all eyes now on Tej Pratap’s next political move.
