Patna, January 7, 2026: The Nitish Kumar government has announced that two days every week will be exclusively dedicated to grievance redressal for common citizens in government offices across Bihar.
Chief Minister Nitish Kumar shared the decision through his official X account, stating that the move will significantly ease the problems faced by the people of the state.
Explaining the rationale behind the decision, CM Nitish Kumar said, “As you all know, shortly after the formation of the new government in the state on November 20, 2025, we implemented the Seven Resolution 3 program with an aim to place Bihar among the most developed states in the country.
The seventh resolution, “Respect for All, Ease of Living, focuses on reducing the everyday difficulties faced by citizens and making their lives easier. We are continuously taking important decisions in this direction.”
Nitish Kumar took this decision to provide relief to citizens:
Nitish Kumar noted that it is often observed that when common people visit government offices with their grievances, officers are not available, causing unnecessary inconvenience. Keeping this in mind, the government has taken an important step to ensure smooth public interaction with officials.
“On two working days every week, Monday and Friday, citizens will be able to meet the concerned officers at the designated offices at the Gram Panchayat, Police Station, Circle, block, sub-division, district, divisional, and state levels to get their grievances addressed,” Kumar said.

On these two designated days, all concerned officers will be mandatorily present in their offices.
They have been instructed to meet citizens respectfully, listen to their problems with sensitivity, and ensure prompt resolution of grievances.
Basic facilities for citizens in the government offices:
The government has also directed all officers to provide basic facilities such as seating arrangements, drinking water, and toilets for visitors.
A complaint register will be maintained to record grievances received, and a system of continuous monitoring will be put in place to track their resolution.
All concerned officers have been instructed to implement this new system from January 19, 2026.

Nitish Kumar said that this initiative will greatly benefit the general public and help resolve issues faster.
Expressing confidence in the initiative, Nitish Kumar said, “I am confident that this system will prove extremely useful for the common citizens of the state and will make their daily lives easier.”
He also invited public feedback, adding that citizens can submit their valuable suggestions regarding this system by January 10, 2026, through the means specified by the government.
