ECI completed its preparation for the second phase of polling, 1302 candidates are in the fray.

Patna, November 10, 2025:

The Election Commission of India (ECI) has completed preparation for the second phase of polling in Bihar.

The polling will begin at 7 am on Tuesday, with 1302 candidates in the fray.

Of them, 1,165 are male, 136 female and 1 candidate identified as third-gender.

The primary contest is expected to be between the NDA and the Grand Alliance, though AIMIM and Jan Suraj are also posing challenges in several constituencies.

Of the 122 seats going to the polls, 101 are general, 19 are reserved for the Scheduled Castes and two for the Scheduled Tribes.

As per ECI, over 3.7 crore eligible electors are enrolled in the second phase:

According to ECI data, Bihar has a total electorate of 3,70,13,556 voters, including 10,21,812 newly added electors.

The number of male voters stands at 1,95,56,899, with 5,28,954 newly-added names.

Female voters total 1,70,68,572, including 4,92,939 newly-added electors.

There are 943 voters registered as third gender, with 90 new inclusions.

A total of 7,69,356 electors in the age group of 18-19 will be voting in an Assembly election for the first time.

For this phase, 45,399 polling stations have been set up, including 5,326 in urban areas and 40,073 in rural locations.

As per the ECI, 595 women-managed polling stations, 91 PwD-managed polling stations and 316 model polling stations have been designated.

All 45,399 stations will have webcasting arrangements.

On average, there are 815 electors per polling station.

ECI will conduct polling in 20 districts:

Polling in this phase will be held across 20 districts, including West Champaran, East Champaran, Shivhar, Sitamarhi, Supaul, Madhubani, Araria, Purnea, Kishanganj, Katihar, Banka, Bhagalpur, Nawada, Jamui, Aurangabad, Gaya Ji, Rohtas, Kaimur, Jehanabad and Arwal.

The polling will be held till 5 pm in some of the polling stations located in the Naxal-hit areas, while in the remaining polling stations, the voting will take place till 6 pm.
