40 poll counting centers were established in 33 districts of Bihar.

Patna June 3: The election commission has established 40 counting centers in 33 districts of Bihar. The polling for the 40 Lok Sabha constituencies in Bihar was held in seven phases.

The counting of votes will start from 8 am on the judgment day on June 4 and the trends are expected to come out around 10 am.

The preparation of the counting is currently underway in the districts where the counting centers were established. The control units, EVMs and VVPATs were kept in specially designed strong rooms with three layers of security. The officials are keeping a close watch on strong rooms through CCTV cameras 24 hours. The paramilitary forces and state police are being deployed at the counting center for the security of EVMs.

The election commission has also issued two helpline numbers 0612-2217601 and 0612-2217602 at state headquarters in Patna. They will work from 7 am on June 4 and anyone could register complaints on it. 

According to an official of the election commission, the counting centers were not established in the Sheohar, Saharsa, Sheikhpura and Arwal districts of Bihar while one center was established for two Lok Sabha constituencies in some districts.

In Patna, Anugrah Narayan College (AN College) is the venue of the counting center for the Patliputra and Patna Sahib parliamentary constituencies.

The Patna traffic police decided to close the traffic operation on Boring Road from 5 am on June 4. Boring Road is a place where AN College is located. The commuters will not be allowed to enter on that stretch from Boring Road Chowk on one end and the water tank area on the other side except for emergency services like ambulances. Commercial vehicles will be also prevented from plying on Boring Canal Road from Rajapur Bridge to Hartali Chowk.

Even the representatives of candidates and media persons will not be allowed to take the vehicles on that stretch. 

The counting center of Sasaram (SC Reserved) seat was formed in Kaimur while the counting center of Karakat was formed in Sasaram.
