Patna, July 17, 2025: Following heavy rains over the Kaimur hills at Tilauthu block in Rohtas for the last few days, the Tutla Bhawani waterfall has turned into a dangerous torrent, prompting the district administration and forest department to ban all tourist movement in the area until further notice.

Authorities have taken precautionary measures at the Tutla Bhawani waterfall:

Since Wednesday, continuous torrential rainfall has been recorded in the district, significantly increasing water flow in the waterfall.

The fierce current, cascading down the hill at a frightening speed, has created a risk of accidents.

Authorities stated that the situation is serious enough to warrant immediate precautionary measures to prevent any untoward incidents.

It is worth noting that last year, several tourists got trapped at the waterfall during heavy rains, leading the administration to adopt stricter caution this season.

Pictures from the site clearly show the dangerous form of the waterfall, with the water gushing down with immense force.

Local temple committee members are assisting the administration by preventing tourists from going near the waterfall, while tourists who had arrived are now returning after witnessing the situation.

Major attraction for tourists:

Tutla Bhawani waterfall, one of South Bihar’s most popular tourist destinations, is known for its natural beauty and easy accessibility via the Delhi-Kolkata National Highway-19.

However, the administration has emphasized that visiting the waterfall during this period is unsafe, urging people to cooperate with the ban until the water flow normalizes.
