The Nitish Kumar government approved 55 agendas for infra boost in Bihar.

Patna January 10, 2025: The Nitish Kumar government has approved a significant number of developmental and welfare measures during its latest cabinet meeting in Patna on Friday.

It has resulted in the approval of 55 agendas, with 21 projects directly linked to the Chief Minister’s Pragati Yatra.

The cabinet has approved Rs,2,960 crore allocated to 21 projects under the Pragati Yatra.

Rs. 73 for widening and strengthening of the 6.75 km road from Pathri Ghat to Barwat Sena Path in West Champaran, Rs.172.76 crore for the widening of the Sheohar-Meerapur Path in Sheohar district.

In a bid to improve power supply, the cabinet of the Nitish Kumar government has sanctioned Rs.157 crore for a grid substation in the Mahua subdivision (Vaishali), including the construction of two 132 KV transmission lines in Tajpur.

Nitish Kumar government allocated funds for lock-zone construction:

S Siddhartha, the Additional Chief Secretariat of Cabinet Secretariat said funds allocated for the construction of new buildings across 308 block-cum-zonal office buildings will be rebuilt with a budget of Rs.16.62 crore, and 62 building less blocks to get new complexes with an allocation of Rs.30.74 crore.

He further said Rs. 246.23 crore was approved for 60 officer residences on Bailey Road, Patna, Rs. 34 crore was allocated for court and lock-up buildings at Piro sub-divisional civil court in Bhojpur, and Rs 17.5 crore for an RCC bridge over the Budhi Gandak River at Ibrahimpur Ghats, East Champaran.

The cabinet of the Nitish Kumar government has also sanctioned 21 acres of land in Patna Sadar Zone transferred to the Airports Authority of India for a parallel taxi track at Patna airport, and 1.46 acres of land transferred to the Ministry of External Affairs for a regional passport office in Patna.

Welfare and economic measures:

The Nitish Kumar government has increased sugarcane prices by Rs.10 per quintal, with the state incurring an annual expenditure of RS 70 crore.

Fire Service employees are to receive actual pay scale benefits retroactive from January 21, 2010, aligning with police personnel and Rs.246,23 crore approved for 60 officer residences along Bailey Road, Patna.

The cabinet has approved Siwan’s Mouniya Baba Mahavir Jhanda Mela and brought it under the Bihar State Mela authority’s management.

A contract extension for Chief Engineer Santosh Kumar of the Building Construction Department for 2 years.

These decisions highlight the Bihar government’s focus on infrastructure development, administrative efficiency, and public welfare while addressing commitments made during the Pragati Yatra.
