Patna June 1: The polling is peaking in Bihar’s 8 seats despite the scorching heat and high humidity. People are seen in long queues outside the polling stations. Prominent personalities like CM Nitish Kumar, Bihar assembly speaker Nand Kishore Yadav, Leader of the opposition in Bihar assembly Tejashwi Yadav, Patna Sahib BJP candidate Ravi Shankar Prasad, Patliputra candidate RamKripal Yadav and others cast their votes.  

The election commission has registered 24.25% polling till 11 am in Bihar.

A maximum of 27.92% of polling was registered in the Karakat Lok Sabha constituency while 27.68% in Patliputra and 27.09% in Jahanabad Lok Sabha constituencies.

Besides them, the election commission has registered 25.89% in Buxar, 24.30% in Nalanda, 22.09% in Sasaram, 21.19% in Arrah and 19.33% in Patna Sahib Lok Sabha constituency.

The by-election is also taking place in the Agiaon assembly constituency and the election commission has registered 19.20% polling till 11 am.

Bihar chief minister Nitish Kumar cast his vote in his native place Bakhtiyarpur, BJP candidate Ravi Shankar Prasad and Bihar assembly speaker Nand Kishore Yadav used their voting rights as well. They have cast their votes in Patna Sahib. BJP’s Patliputra Lok Sabha candidate Ramkripal Yadav also cast his vote on Saturday.

Meanwhile, RJD leader Tejshwi Yadav claimed the INDIA bloc is going to form the government in the centre.

“We are going to win more than 300 seats in this election and are going to form the government in the centre. Our issue is the unemployment of youths. We have promised to provide jobs and people are voting us on it,” Yadav said while interacting with the media persons in Patna.

When asked whether he is going to the meeting of the INDIA bloc in New Delhi, he said that he is going there. The meeting will be held at 3 pm.

He also reacted to the exit poll and said he does not believe in it.

“We do not believe in exit polls. There will be a number of exit polls in the evening. Which should we believe? So, we have to wait till June 4th. When you analyse the ground reality, people have faith in the INDIA bloc and we are going to form the government in the country,” he said.
