Patna June 5: The election commission has declared the result of the Lok Sabha poll late on Tuesday night and NDA lost 9 seats of Lok Sabha in Bihar.

The NDA managed to achieve 30 seats out of 40 while the Grand Alliance obtained only 10 seats. NDA had obtained 39 seats in the 2019 Lok Sabha election. JD(U) and BJP won 12 seats each while LJPRV won 5 seats and HAMS won 1. In Grand Alliance, RJD won 4 seats, Congress 3, CPI-ML 2 and Independent 1 seats.

While Nitish Kumar emerged in the role of kingmaker in this election  LJPRV has achieved 100% result. The party of Chirag Pawan contested 5 seats and won all of them.

Chirag Paswan himself contested from Hajipur while his brother-in-law Arun Bharti contested from Jamui. Both of them have defeated the RJD candidates Shiv Chandra Ram and Archana Ravidas respectively.

Two members of Lalu Prasad Yadav’s family contested this election from Patliputra and Saran Lok Sabha constituencies. His eldest daughter Misa Bharti contested on the Patliputra seat and managed to defeat Ram Kripal Yadav in the third attempt. She lost to Ram Kripal Yadav in the 2014 and 2019 Lok Sabha elections.

However, Lalu Prasad Yadav’s second daughter Rohini Acharya lost the contest of Saran with a narrow margin of just 13661 votes. Rajiv Pratap Rudy of the BJP is the winner of the Saran seat. He made a hattrick of winning this seat. He won the Saran Lok Sabha seat in 2014, 2019 and now in the 2024 Lok Sabha election.

Karakat was another hot seat due to the appearance of Bhojpuri film star Pawan Singh. He made the contest triangular here. However, he eventually lost to CPI-ML candidate Rajaram Singh Kushwaha with a margin of 105858 votes. Surprisingly, Upendra Kushwaha who was contesting as an NDA candidate reached to third position. Purnea was the hot seat in this election thanks to the triangular contest following the arrival of Rajesh Ranjan alias Pappu Yadav on this seat. He had merged his party (JAP) in Congress to contest from Purnea Lok Sabha constituency. As this seat went to RJD after the seat-sharing formula, he contested as an independent candidate and won the election with a margin of 23847 votes. He defeated the JD(U) candidate Santosh Kushwaha while Bima Bharti of RJD reached to third position.
