Patna July 28: Nawada police arrested 11 cyber criminals from the district Warsaliganj area, an official said.
Priya Jyoti, the DSP of cyber cell Nawada police said that the team has seized 168 pages of leaked data, 34 mobile phones, 13 sim cards 1 laptop and one bike from their possessions.
Nawada Police arrested 11 cyber criminals: The accused are identified as Raja Ram Kumar 25 who is the mastermind of the gang. Besides him, the police team also arrested Avinash Kumar (30), Pappu Saw (46), Bhaskar Kumar (25), Santosh Kumar (23), Ajay Kumar (29), Lakhan Kumar (34), Krishna Kumar (20), Dharmendra Kumar (19), Sidhartha Shankar (32), and Bittu Kumar (23). Among them, 10 accused are a native of Nawada district and 1 from neighboring Nalanda district.

The accused are booked under sections of 303(2), 318(2), 318(4), 319(2), 336(3), 340(2), and 61(2), of B.N.S and 66, 66B, 66C, and 66D of IT act. The accused were produced in the district court which sent them to judicial custody.
Nawada Police Investigation: “The accused were operating from the district and deceiving numerous individuals by offering fake loans under the guise of Dhani Finance, which is a company of India Bulls Private Ltd. They obtained data, including mobile phones, addresses and previous transactions of purchasing products through the Meesho website,” DSP Priya Jyoti said.
“Many victims of financial frauds had registered complaints on our web portal “Prativimb”. The complaints have also provided the phone numbers used in the commission of cheating,” the officer said.
“To tackle the issue, we have placed those numbers under surveillance to trace the locations. After finding the location, we constituted a team following the direction of the district SP and conducted raids on a park located in Warsaliganj block on Saturday. We have around 15 to 20 men assembled there. Upon noticing the police team approaching them, they attempted to flee. Our team chased them and managed to arrest 11 of them. In confessional statements, the accused accepted that they duped many people and earned lakhs of rupees” DSP Priya Jyoti said.
“We have found many broken SIM cards in the park. During interrogation, they confessed the crime,” She said.
Cybercriminals are active in Nawada: Nawada has turned out a hub of financial fraud in the last few years with many cybercriminals in the district.
