Modi government distributed ministry portfolios

Patna June 10: A day after the swearing-in ceremony of 72 MPs including PM Narendra Modi, the NDA government distributed the ministry portfolios among them on Monday.

Eight MPs who were either elected in the recently concluded Lok Sabha election or the Rajya Sabha MP of Bihar became the cabinet and state ministers in the Narendra Modi government. Former JD (U) national president and MP from Munger Lalan Singh and LJPRV national president Chirag Paswan have been given the responsibility of two ministries of cabinet ranks.

Rajiv Ranjan Singh alias Lalan Singh was given the charge of Minister of Panchayati Raj as well as Animal Husbandry and Fisheries and Dairy while Chirag Paswan got the Ministry of Sports and Food Processing while Jitan Ram Manjhi was given the responsibility of the MSME Department. Ram Nath Thakur has been made Minister of State in the Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Ministry.

Under the BJP quota of Bihar, Giriraj Singh has been given the responsibility of the Textile Ministry. He is a cabinet minister while Nityanand Rai was given the post of MoS home again.

Satish Chandra Dubey has been made Minister of State in the Coal Ministry and Mines Ministry. Raj Bhushan Chaudhary has got the charge of Minister of State in the Jal Shakti Ministry.

NDA had won 30 seats in Lok Sabha in Bihar. Out of this, JD (U) and BJP got 12 seats each. While Chirag Paswan’s LJPRV won 5 seats. Jitan Ram Manjhi became MP from Gaya.
