Union Textile Minister and BJP leader Giriraj Singh cast his vote in the first phase of the 2025 Bihar Assembly elections on Thursday.
He arrived at polling booth number 43 at Middle School Barahiya Number 2 at 7 am, stood in the queue, and was the first voter at the station.
Giriraj Singh offers prayers before voting:
Before voting, Giriraj Singh offered prayers at the temple in his village, calling himself a true follower of Sanatan Dharma.
He claimed that India’s identity is incomplete without Sanatan Dharma.
He alleged that at the time of independence, there were about 3000 mosques in India, whereas the number has now increased to around three lakh, while temples are being demolished in Pakistan.
Speaking to the media after voting, Giriraj Singh said, “If temples are not built in India, they will be built in Pakistan.”
He also targeted Lalu Prasad Yadav, Tejashwi Yadav and Rahul Gandhi, and further remarked that every person wearing a burqa should be investigated.
Giriraj Singh expressed confidence in a strong NDA performance in the first phase, saying results similar to 2010 would be seen.
Voting in phase one is being held on 121 seats across 18 districts, including Patna. A total of 1314 candidates are in the fray, including 1192 male and 122 female candidates.

Meanwhile, Union Minister Rajiv Ranjan Singh alias Lalan Singh also cast his vote on Thursday morning and said that those assuming victory beforehand will get their answer on November 14, adding that the public still trusts Nitish Kumar.
Former Chief Minister Rabri Devi urged all voters, especially women and youth, to step out and vote, saying, “This e, there will be change, people will bring that change.”
Besides Rabri Devi, Lalu Prasad Yadav and Tejashwi Yadav also cast their votes in Patna.

RJD candidate and Bhojpuri film superstar Khesari Lal Yadav also cast his vote at a polling station in Rasulpur in Chhapra Assembly constituency.
Meanwhile, in the first two hours of polling, the Election Commission has recorded 13.13% in 18 districts.
Saharsa has recorded the highest polling with 15.27%, followed by 14.60% in Begusarai, 14.38% in Muzaffarpur, 14.30% in Vaishali, and 14.15% in Khagaria.
Besides, Madhepura recorded 13.74%, Darbhanga 12.48%, Gopalganj 13.97%, Siwan 13.35%, Saran 13.30%, Samastipur 12.86%, Munger 13.37%, Lakhisarai 13.39%, Sheikhpura 12.97%, Nalanda 12.45%, Patna 11.22%, Bhojpur 13.11%, and Buxar 13.28% polling till 9 am.
