CSBC gives great relief to 1.07 lakh candidates for the constable recruitment.

Patna December 4, 2024: The CSBC (Central Selection Board for Constable) Bihar gas provided significant relief to candidates regarding the Economic Weaker Section (EWS) and Non-Creamy Layer (NCL) certificates amid ongoing protests.

Around 1.07 lakh candidates who passed the written examination for constables had been agitating for the past eight days in Patna’s Gardani Bagh locality, alleging ambiguity in CSBC’s earlier notification regarding the requirement of these certificates.

CSBC has given relaxation on certificates:

Candidates accused CSBC of not specifying these requirements at the time of notification.

Sustained protests brought the issue to the forefront, prompting CSBC to address the grievances and issue a clarification on Wednesday.

After the continuous pressure applied by the agitating candidates, CSBC amended its terms and allowed them to take the physical test without EWS and NCL certificates.

CSBC chairman Jitendra Kumar clarified that candidates will not be disqualified in the physical test for lacking these certificates, although having them would be good.

“If anyone is carrying these two certificates, then it is good. However, candidates without them will still be allowed to participate in the physical test and will not be disqualified,” Kumar said.

Government Involvement:

The Bihar General Administration Department sought clarification from CSBC on the matter. Education Minister Sunil Kumar assured candidates that their grievances would be addressed, with legitimate action taken to resolve the issue.

Upcoming Physical Test:

The Physical test will be scheduled for December 9. The test will see participation from approximately 1.07 lakh qualified candidates.

Of the successful candidates, 60% are women, and 11 transgender candidates are also included.

The constable recruitment exams were conducted twice due to a paper leak in the initial attempt. A total of 13 lakh candidates appeared for the written examination, of which 107,089 candidates cleared the test.

This resolution provides much-needed clarity and relief for the candidates allowing them to focus on preparations for the upcoming physical test.
