Chinese national who attempted suicide in Muzaffarpur jail, died.
Patna June 11: A Chinese national who was tried to commit suicide in Muzaffarpur central jail on June 8, succumbed during the treatment in a hospital on Tuesday.
The alleged person was identified as Li Jiaqi (60). He was arrested by Muzaffarpur police from city’s Barriya ISBT on June 6. He illegally entered in India without carrying proper Visa to stay here.
The superintendent of the Muzaffarpur Central Jail has confirmed the incident.
He was lodged in Shaheed Khudiram Bose Central Jail Muzaffarpur and was tried to commit suicide on June 8. He partially cut his private part using the glass of his spectacle. Then, he fainted in the toilet. The matter came to light when other prisoners saw him in a blood-soaked condition. He was lying unconscious in the jail toilet. After this, he was hurriedly admitted to the jail ward of Shri Krishna Medical College and Hospital (SKMCH) Muzaffarpur. Where he died on Tuesday morning.
Li Jiaqi entered India from the Nepal border and reached Muzaffarpur. He was trying to board a bus from Barriya ISBT in the city under Brahmpur police station on June 6 when he was arrested by the district police. On the information of his arrest, the district police along with the intelligence department team interrogated him.
Muzaffarpur police had recovered currencies of China, India and Nepal from his possession. Also, a map of China was also seized by the police. Apart from this, three small statues made of stone were also recovered from him.
