Nand Kishore Yadav expressed hope for meaningful discussion during the 5-day winter session.

Patna November 22, 2024: The Speaker of the Bihar Assembly, Nand Kishore Yadav, expressed hope for smooth and meaningful discussions during the upcoming winter session of the Assembly, set to begin on November 25.

Speaking at an all-party meeting held on Friday, November 22, the Nand Kishore Yadav called for cooperation from all political parties to ensure the session proceeds constructively and addresses issues of public interest.

Nand Kishor Yadav emphasized that the session should be a platform for both the ruling party and the opposition to work together in solving public problems.

“I expect positive cooperation from all parties for the successful and peaceful conduct of this session,” he stated.

Opposition leaders expressed concern before Nand Kishore Yadav:

Opposition leaders, including RJD’s Akhtarul Shaheen and Congress Legislature Party leader Shaakeel Ahmed Khan, expressed dissatisfaction with the previous session, claiming that their voices were not allowed to be heard.

They demanded proper opportunities to raise public issues during the winter session and criticized members of RJD and Congress for sitting near ruling party members instead of their designated seats.

CPI-ML MLA Sandeep Saurav criticized the short duration of the session, arguing that 5 days is insufficient and advocating for a session of at least 12-15 days.

Government’s Agendas during the winter session:

The government plans to introduce several bills during the session and present the second supplementary budget.

Minister Madan Sahni expressed confidence in the government’s readiness, asserting that the opposition would not succeed in disrupting the session.

Mutual Cooperation:

Despite criticisms, the opposition assured their cooperation to ensure meaningful discussions in the House.

Nand Kishore Yadav also met with officials to ensure smooth proceedings during the session.

Upcoming Issues:

The opposition is expected to corner the government on issues such as unemployment, corruption, and governance.

Legislative business will likely dominate the short session, as the government aims to pass critical bills and address supplementary budgetary allocations.

The winter session will test the ability of both the ruling party and the opposition to engage in constructive debate, especially amidst persistent political tensions in Bihar.
