Congress has finalized the names of six candidates to contest LS poll from Bihar.
Patna April 22: Congress party has finalized the names of six candidates of Lok Sabha election 2024 for Bihar.
However, Congress has not announced the names officially but sources have said that the party’s central election committee has finalized the names in a meeting held in New Delhi on Sunday evening.
Sources have said that the party has given the ticket to Anshul Kumar Abhijit to contest the election from Patna Sahib Lok Sabha constituency. He is a son of former Lok Sabha speaker Miera Kumar. Abhijit will challenge former law minister Ravishankar Prasad of BJP.
The party has also finalised the name of Aakash Singh to contest the Lok Sabha election from Maharajganj. Aakash Singh is a son of Congress state president Akhilesh Singh. Aakash Singh will contest against sitting MP Janardan Singh Sigriwal of BJP.
Congress has finalized the name of Vishwanath Ram to contest the Lok Sabha election Sasaram (SC Reserved) seat. He will contest against Shivesh Ram of BJP.
Sunny Hazari is an expected candidate of Congress to contest the Lok Sabha election from Samastipur (SC Reserved) seat. He is a son of Dalit leader Maheshwar Hazari. Sunny Hazari will challenge Shambhavi Choudhary of LJPR.
The grand old party also finalized the name of Ajay Nishad to contest the Lok Sabha election from Muzaffarpur. Ajay Nishad is a sitting MP of Muzaffarpur but as the saffron party had not given the ticket in Lok Sabha election 2024, he left BJP and joined Congress. He will contest against Raj Bhushan Nishad of BJP.
Congress has also given the ticket to Munna Tiwari to contest from Paschim Champaran Lok Sabha constituency. He is a son of former MLA Madan Mohan Tiwari. Munna Tiwari will challenge BJP former state president Sanjay Jaiswal.
The grand old party has already announced the names of Ajeet Sharma to contest from Bhagalpur, Tariq Anwar from Katihar and Mohammad Jawed to contest from Kishanganj. Mohammad Jawed is a sitting MP of Congress party from this seat.
