Patna December 19, 2024: Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar has launched three significant infrastructure projects aimed at improving rural connectivity across the state.
Nitish Kumar launched 43 deluxe buses:
As part of these initiatives, he flagged off 43 deluxe buses under the Transport Department’s new services plan on Thursday.
Before launching the fleet, CM Kumar reviewed the facilities provided in these buses to ensure they meet the standards of convenience and comfort. The addition of these deluxe buses is expected to offer a comfortable and reliable travel experience for passengers across different regions of Bihar.
The buses will operate on various inter-regional routes, emphasizing the state’s goal of providing affordable, accessible, safe, and state-of-the-art transport services to its citizens, particularly in rural and semi-urban areas. This initiative is seen as a major step toward enhancing public transport infrastructure and improving connectivity within the state.
Nitish Kumar launched a mobile app:
Chief Minister Nitish Kumar inaugurated the ‘Hamara Bihar Hamari Sadak’ mobile app, developed by the Rural Works Department, as part of efforts to enhance rural infrastructure in Bihar. The app, designed for Android devices, was launched through a remote button press during the event.
The app allows residents to report road-related issues, such as potholes, damaged edges, and other problems, by uploading details and photos. This initiative aims to improve transparency and accountability in road maintenance.
It provides access to a list of 65,000 kilometres of rural roads under maintenance, allowing users to select roads from their respective blocks and report issues.
The app will be available on the Google Play Store, and citizens can easily download it and contribute to enhancing the rural road network.
The Rural Works Department has committed to invest Rs.25,000 crore for road repairs in 2025.
Nitish Kumar emphasized the need for continuous monitoring, rapid complaint resolution, and diligent road maintenance, stating, “ Take special care that all roads are maintained. Ensure quick resolution of complaints received from the public. Keep monitoring continuously to solve problems.”
Bihar government will construct 6659 playgrounds:
Chief Minister Nitish Kumar also initiated the construction of 6,659 playgrounds in 5,671 gram panchayats across Bihar under the Rural Development Department.
This ambitious project has been allocated a total budget of Rs.6,382.735 crore and is aligned with the state’s commitment to fostering recreational and developmental infrastructure in rural areas.
The construction of playgrounds aims to provide rural communities, especially the youth, with spaces for sports and recreational activities.
The initiative will generate substantial employment opportunities for laborers under the MGNREGA ( Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act) scheme, contributing to rural economic growth.
