Patna, July 29, 2026: In a major announcement for teacher aspirants in Bihar, Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary on Wednesday said the state Education Department has sent a requisition to the Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC) for the recruitment of 32,388 teachers under the fourth phase of the Teacher Recruitment Examination (TRE-4).
Announcing the development in a post on social media platform X, Choudhary described it as another historic gift for Bihar’s youth.
He said the recruitment drive reflects the government’s commitment to strengthening the education system, creating employment opportunities, and building a developed Bihar.
Samrat Choudhary mentioned vacancy distribution:
According to Samrat Choudhary, the proposed vacancies for classes 1 to 5: 3,847 posts, classes 6 to 8: 8,563 posts, classes 9 to 10: 3,877 posts, and classes 11 to 12: 16,101 posts.
In total, 32,388 teaching posts will be filled through the TRE-4 recruitment process.
With the requisition now submitted, attention has shifted to the BPSC, which is expected to issue the official recruitment notification in the coming weeks.
The notification is likely to include details regarding online application dates, eligibility criteria, subject-wise vacancies, reservation policy, examination schedule, and selection process.
Thousands of candidates across the state had been awaiting the launch of the fourth phase of teacher recruitment.
Aspirants possessing qualifications such as B.Ed, D.El.Ed, STET, CTET and BTET are expected to benefit from the recruitment drive, subject to the eligibility criteria prescribed in the official notification.
Aim to address teacher shortage:
The Samrat Choudhary government said the recruitment of over 32,000 teachers will help fill long-pending vacancies in government schools and improve the quality of education at the primary, middle, secondary, and higher secondary levels.
According to the government, strengthening teacher availability will enhance classroom teaching activities across government schools.
Reiterating the government’s focus on employment generation, Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary said continuous efforts are being made to create job opportunities for the youth while improving Bihar’s education sector.
With the requisition now before the BPSC, aspiring teachers are awaiting the release of the official recruitment advertisement, which will provide complete details regarding applications, examinations, and the selection process.
