Chandigarh, July 23, 2026: Union Minister of State for Ayush and Health & Family Welfare Prataprao Jadhav paid a courtesy call on Haryana Governor Ashim Kumar Ghosh at Raj Bhavan (Lok Bhavan) in Chandigarh on Thursday.

During the meeting, the two leaders held detailed discussions on strengthening healthcare infrastructure and promoting the Ayush system of medicine in Haryana.

A key focus of the meeting was the progress of the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) being constructed at Rewari.

Reviewing the status of the project, Governor Prof. Ashim Kumar Ghosh emphasized that the institute should be completed within the stipulated timeline so that people in the region can begin benefiting from advanced healthcare facilities at the earliest.

Ashim Kumar Ghosh reviewed Panchkula’s NIA:

The Governor also reviewed the progress of the National Institute of Ayurveda (NIA) at Panchkula.

Briefing him on the institute’s functioning, Union Minister Prataprao Jadhav said the NIA is already providing daily consultation and treatment to patients through its Outpatient Department (OPD).

He added that the institute would soon be formally inaugurated and dedicated to the nation by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

During the interaction, the Union Minister outlined several initiatives undertaken by the Government of India to strengthen the country’s healthcare infrastructure and expand the Ayush system of medicine.

He said the Centre is working to integrate traditional systems of medicine with modern healthcare to provide holistic and accessible medical services.

Governor Prof. Ashim Kumar Ghosh stressed the importance of further strengthening the healthcare delivery system to ensure that affordable, accessible, and quality medical services reach every citizen, particularly women and people living in remote and underserved areas.

He said continuous investment in healthcare infrastructure and public health services is essential to achieving equitable healthcare for all.

Highlighting the Centre’s efforts, Prataprao Jadhav said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, India has witnessed unprecedented expansion in healthcare infrastructure.

Rapid growth of Haryana in the healthcare sector:

He noted that equal emphasis is being placed on promoting the Ayush system as an integral part of the country’s healthcare framework.

The Minister further stated that Haryana is also experiencing rapid growth in its healthcare infrastructure, with sustained efforts being made to improve medical facilities and ensure quality healthcare services for every section of society, especially the poor and underprivileged.

Advocate Manoj Bakshi also accompanied the Union Minister during the courtesy meeting with the Governor, Ashim Kumar Ghosh.
