Patna, May 21, 2026: Bihar Panchayati Raj Minister Deepak Prakash On Thursday, congratulated Anita Toppe Mukhiya in Rohtas district, for bringing recognition to Bihar through her outstanding performance in the national Panchayat Awards.

Anita Toppe secured second place in the Nanaji Deshmukh Sarvottam Satat Vikas Puraskar category.

Panchayati Raj officials honoured Anita Toppe in the presence of Deepak Prakash:

On the occasion, the Director of the Panchayati Raj Department honoured the Mukhiya with a bouquet and praised the effective implementation of development schemes at the Panchayat level.

Officials also appreciated the contribution of the Panchayat Secretary and local administration in ensuring the successful execution of welfare and development initiatives.

During the interaction, Deepak Prakash reviewed ongoing development work and discussed local challenges faced by the Gram Panchayat, particularly issues related to clean drinking water and sanitation.

Deepak Prakash acknowledged that access to safe drinking water remains a challenge in some wards of Telkup Gram Panchayat and assured all possible support from the department to address the issue.

The minister encouraged the Panchayat to continue working toward public welfare and sustainable rural development, adding that other Gram Panchayats across Bihar should draw inspiration from Telkup’s achievements.

Visit planned to Telkup Panchayat:

Deepak Prakash also announced that he would soon visit Telkup Gram Panchayat to personally review the development and public welfare initiatives being carried out there.

The minister emphasized the importance of developing self-generated revenue sources for Panchayats, stating that financially self-reliant Gram Panchayats would strengthen rural governance and allow local bodies to address community needs more effectively.

Mukhiya credits collective effort:

Speaking on the recognition, Anita Toppe said the award reflected the collective efforts of public representatives, Panchayat employees, and villagers.

She stated that the prize money received through the award would be utilized for development activities benefiting all sections of the Gram Panchayat.

Toppe also highlighted the role of training programmes conducted by the District Panchayat Resource Centre, saying they significantly enhanced administrative capacity and helped improve implementation of government schemes at the grassroots level.
