Patna, March 23, 2026: The Bihar School Examination Board (BSEB) announced the Intermediate (Class 12) examination result on Monday, declaring outcomes for all three streams, Science, Commerce and Arts.

The announcement was made jointly by BSEB chairman Anand Kishore and Bihar Education Minister Sunil Kumar.

This year, the overall pass percentage stood at 85.19%. Female students outperformed male students, with a pass percentage of 86.23%, compared to 84.09% among males.

Girls dominated the BSEB Intermediate Examination:

Notably, girls dominated the merit list of Intermediate, emerging as toppers in both the Arts and Commerce streams, while a male student secured the top position in Science.

Out of a total of 26 toppers, 19 are girls, and 7 are boys.

In the Science stream, Aditya Prakash Aman from Samastipur topped the state with 481 marks (96.20%).

Sakshi Kumar from Sitamarhi also delivered an outstanding performance.

In the Art stream, Neetu Kumari from Gaya secured the top position with 479 marks (95.8).

Meanwhile, in the Commerce stream, Aditi Kumari from St. Xavier’s High School, Patna, topped with 480 marks.

The top five ranks in the science stream included six students: Aditya Prakash Aman (Samastipur), Sakshi Kumari (Sitamarhi), Sapna Kumari (Nawada), Anamika Kumari (Begusarai), Satyam Kumar (Darbhanga), and Palak Kumari (Muzaffarpur.

The Arts stream saw 13 students in the top ranks, while 7 students featured in the top five ranks of the Commerce stream.

13.17 lakh students appeared in the examination:

A total of approximately 13.17 lakh students appeared for the examination, which was conducted across 1,762 centres from February 2 to February 13, 2026.

Of these, around 6.75 lakh were female candidates and 6.42 lakh were male candidates.

The Board completed the verification of toppers nearly five days prior to the declaration of results.

As part of the process, shortlisted candidates were called to Patna for interviews, and their answer sheets were cross-checked to ensure authenticity and transparency.

This marks the eighth consecutive year that BSEB has declared intermediate results ahead of other boards like CBSE and ICSE in the country, continuing its record of timely announcements.

BSEB Chairman Anand Kishore attributed this achievement to systematic reforms and the integration of technology in the evaluation process, enabling faster and error-free result publication. As per BSEB rules, students are required to secure a minimum of 30% marks in each subject to pass the intermediate examination.
