Polling for the second phase of the election on 122 constituencies begins on Tuesday.

Patna, November 11, 2025: Polling for the crucial second and final phase of the 2025 Bihar Assembly elections begins at 7 am on Tuesday.

Voting will continue till 6 pm, though in some Naxal-affected polling stations, voting will close at 5 pm.

1302 candidates are in the fray of the second phase of polling:

A total of 1302 candidates are in the fray of this election, including 1165 men, 136 women and 1 third-gender candidate.

The main contest is between the NDA and the Grand Alliance, though in some seats, AIMIM and Jan Suraj Party are also in the race.

Of the 122 constituencies going to the polls, 101 are general, 19 SC-reserved and 2 ST-reserved.

According to Election Commission data, 3,70,13,556 electors are enrolled for this phase, including 10,21,812 new voters.

The number of male voters stands at 1,95,56,899, including 5,28,954 newly-added names post Special Intensive Revision (SIR).

Female voters total is 1,70,68,572, including 4,92,939 newly-added electors.

There are 943 voters registered as third gender, including 90 new inclusions in the voter list.

A total of 7,69,356 electors in the age group of 18-19 will be voting in the Assembly election for the first time.

The ECI has set up 45,399 polling stations, including 5326 in urban and 40,073 in rural areas. Of these, 595 are women-managed, 91 PwD-managed, and 316 are model polling stations.

All booths have webcasting facilities.

Bihar police have made special security arrangements:

As per ECI directives, 1650 companies of the central armed forces have been deployed across the state to ensure peaceful polling.

Drone and CCTV cameras are being used for surveillance, and Quick Response Teams (QRTs) have been pressed into service for emergencies.

The second phase covers 20 districts, including West Champaran, East Champaran, Sheohar, Sitamarhi, Supaul, Madhubani, Araraia, Purnea, Kishanganj, Katihar, Bhagalpur, Banka, Nawada, Aurangabad, Gaya Ji, Rohtas, Kaimur, Jehanabad and Arwal.

The average polling number of electors per polling station is 815.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has appealed to the voters of Bihar to participate in the second phase of the election in large numbers.

“Today is the second and final phase of voting in the Bihar Assembly elections. I urge all voters to participate enthusiastically and set a new record for voter turnout. I especially appeal to the young people of the state who are voting for the first time to not only cast their own votes but also encourage others to do so,” PM Modi said in his post on social media.
