Patna, August 19, 2025: The ongoing Voter Adhikar Yatra of the Grand Alliance in Bihar took a dramatic political turn on Tuesday when Tejashwi Yadav, the RJD leader, announced that Congress leader Rahul Gandhi will be the Prime Ministerial candidate in the next Lok Sabha elections.
Speaking at a massive public meeting in Nawada, where he shared the stage with Rahul Gandhi, Tejashwi Yadav launched a fierce attack on the BJP and the Election Commission.
Tejashwi Yadav attacked the EC and the BJP over SIR:
Tejashwi Yadav alleged that the two were working hand-in-hand to deprive the poor of their voting rights.
Tejashwi claimed that in the Special Intensive Revision process, the names of genuine voters were being deleted.

Even people who voted in the last elections have been declared dead. They think they can cheat the Biharis, but remember—one Bihari is superior to all. This time, the people will demand accountability for every penny,” he said, evoking loud cheers from the crowd.
Tejashwi Yadav criticized Nitish Kumar:
He also criticized Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, asserting that the reins of Bihar are no longer safe in Nitish Kumar’s hands. His government has been in power for 20 years, yet it is busy stealing our schemes and rebranding them as it own. The time has come to overthrow this government.”
Promising rapid development and inclusive growth, Tejashwi Yadav vowed to take all communities along in building a new Bihar.

On the same stage, Rahul Gandhi echoed similar sentiments, accusing the BJP and the Election Commission of stealing votes in a new way.
This is a conspiracy to weaken democracy. But we will stop this conspiracy and protect the rights of the people.
