Sonpur division launches “Red Train Raid” to crack down on ticketless travel.

Patna, May 8, 2025: In a bold initiative to curb unauthorized travel and reinforce passenger discipline, the Sonpur Division of Indian Railways launched a special campaign titled “Red Train Raid” (Laal Gaadi) across multiple rail sections on Wednesday.
Under this operation, 15 dedicated ticket-checking personnel were deployed across select trains and routes in the division.
The drive resulted in the identification of 215 ticketless travelers and therecovery of Rs 1.13 lakh in fines in a single day.
This campaign is part of a broader push to ensure fair and legal travel across our network. We are committed to taking strict action against ticketless travellers,” said the Divisional Railway Manager (DRM) of Sonpur division.
Features of Red Train Raid:
Under the initiative of the “Red Train Raid”, the officials have put a special focus on high traffic-sections within the Sonpur Division to catch regular offenders.

The railway authorities deployed skilled ticket-checking staff for real-time enforcement and fine collection.
The Red Train Raid campaign aims to promote a culture of lawful travel, protect the railway’s revenue, and improve travel convenience and security for genuine passengers.
Public Appeal and Awareness:
The Sonpur Division has appealed to the public to support the initiative by ensuring ticket purchase only through authorized booking counters or the official UTS Mobile App, available for both Android and iOS platforms.
