Patna July 3: Bihar BJP state president Samrat Choudhary removed his turban (Muretha) in Ayodhya on Wednesday.
He went to Ayodhya on Tuesday and reached there in the evening. He surrendered his turban at the feet of Lord Ram. He had worn it for the last 22 months. Additionally, he shaved his head and sought blessings at the Hanuman Garhi temple.
Samrat Choudhary had worn the turban with a vow to remove it only after successfully removing Nitish Kumar from the position of Chief Minister of Bihar. At that time, Nitish Kumar was running the Bihar government with the support of the Grand Alliance.
In 2024, Nitish Kumar separated from the India Alliance and aligned with the NDA. Despite joining the NDA, he continued to serve as Chief Minister.
When asked if his vow had been fulfilled, Samrat Choudhary confirmed, “Absolutely, I had announced it in Patna on June 28 itself that I will go to Ayodhya and dedicate it at the feet of Lord Shri Ram.”
“My vow was fulfilled because Nitish Kumar first separated from the INDIA Alliance and then joined the NDA while remaining Chief Minister,” he said.
Earlier, Samrat Choudhary remarked that Lord Ram and Goddess Janaki share an unbreakable bond, likening Bihar and Uttar Pradesh to sibling families. He emphasized that both states have significantly contributed to the construction of India.
Commenting on the Hathras stampede incident, he expressed his sorrow, stating, “This is very unfortunate; such an incident should not happen. The process of investigation has been started.”
