RJD gave the symbol of the party to four candidates for the first phase of Lok Sabha election 2024.

Patna: With less than one month remaining for the polling of the first phase of Lok Sabha election 2024, Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) announced the names of four candidates for the Lok Sabha election of Bihar.

The party’s national president Lalu Prasad Yadav and leader of opposition in Bihar assembly Tejashwi  gave the symbols to three candidates on Wednesday evening as well.

Chitranjan Gagan, the spokesperson of RJD confirmed the development.

“Our national president Lalu Prasad Yadav and Tejashwi Yadav gave the symbol of the party to the candidates of Gaya, Aurangabad and Jamui on Wednesday evening and a candidate of Nawada will be given the same on Thursday,” Gagan said.

The first phase of Lok Sabha election will be scheduled on April 19 and the filing of nomination papers started on Wednesday (March 20).

The party has given ticket to Kumar Sarvjeet to contest Gaya (reserved) seat. Sarvjeet was the agriculture minister in the Mahagathbandhan government. He was appointed as an agriculture minister after the resignation of Sudhakar Singh. He is expected to contest against NDA candidate and Hindustani Awam Morcha-Secular patron minister Jitan Ram Manjhi.

Besides him, RJD has also given the tickets to Abhay Kushwaha from Aurangabad, Archana Ravidas from Jamui (Reserved) and Shrawan Kushwaha from Nawada Lok Sabha constituency.

The seat sharing formula between INDIA blocs is not finalized yet. Congress state president Akhilesh Singh met with RJD chief Lalu Prasad Yadav to discuss the same on Thursday morning.
