RJD gave the symbol of the party to four candidates for the first phase of Lok Sabha election 2024.

Patna, March 21, 2024: With less than a month left for the first phase of the Lok Sabha elections 2024, the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) on Wednesday announced its first list of candidates from Bihar.

RJD leader and Opposition Party leader handed over the party:

RJD national president Lalu Prasad Yadav and leader of Opposition Tejashwi Yadav handed over party symbols to three of the candidates—Kumar Sarvjeet (Gaya, reserved), and Archana Ravidas (Jamui, reserved)—at a function in Patna on Wednesday evening. The fourth candidate, Shrawan Kushwaha (Nawada), will receive the party symbol on Thursday.

RJD spokesperson Chitranjan Gangan confirmed the development and said the party is gearing up for the April 19 polls, when these four constituencies go to vote in the first phase. The filing on nominations began on March 20.

Former Bihar Agriculture minister Kumar Sarvjeet will face NDA candidate:

Among the key contests, former Bihar agriculture minister Kumar Sarvjeet will face NDA candidate and Hindistani Awam Morcha-Secular (HAM-S) patron Jitan Ram Manjhi in Gaya.

The seat-sharing formula within the INDIA bloc is still under negotiation. Bihar Congress president Akhilesh Singh met Lalu Prasad Yadav on Thursday to finalize arrangements for other constituencies.
