Prashant Kishor criticized Mangal Pandey and called him the nominated leader.

Patna, May 23, 2025: Jan Suraj founder Prashant Kishor currently leading the ‘Bihar Badlaav Yatra’ intensified his attack on the ruling BJP during his visit to Siwan, aiming to mobilize support for his movement focused on systemic change and political accountability in Bihar.
Prashant Kishor highlighted Mangal Pandey’s poor track record:
Addressing the media, Kishor launched a pointed criticism of Bihar Health Minister Mangal Pandey, calling him a “boastful leader” with a track record of electoral and administrative failures.
“In the 2015 Assembly elections, he claimed that BJP would win 200 seats under his leadership as state president. In reality, the party managed only 55,” Kishor said. “Later, when he was made in charge of Bengal, BJP suffered a crushing defeat there too,” Kishor said.
Prashant Kishor also blamed Pandey for the state’s mismanaged health system; particularly highlighting his role during the COVID-19 pandemic which he said exposed serious lapses in Bihar’s healthcare.

Referring to a recent incident at NMCH hospital where rats chewed off a patient’s fingers, Kishor said it reflects the ongoing decay in the healthcare sector. “This is the state of health under his leadership. Everyone knows his image as a minister,” he remarked.
Further raising the political pitch Kishor alleged that the BJP’s top leadership is pressuring him to contest the upcoming assembly elections, but dismissed current BJP leaders as, “Jugaad leaders” those who rely on arrangements and patronage rather than merit or public support.
“If he has the courage, he should come and contest elections properly, by filing nominations and earning people’s trust,” he challenged.
Prashant Kishor claimed his party aims for total transformation:
Prashant Kishor also asserted that individuals with a history of corruption have no right to question his credibility reiterating that Jan Suraj’s mission is not just to win elections but to bring meaningful transformation to Bihar’s political landscape.
The remarks come amid heightened political activity across Bihar as the state braces for a fiercely contested election season.
