According to sources, PM Modi spoke with CM Nitish Kumar over the phone on Tuesday evening and appreciated his contribution to the NDA’s performance in Bihar.

“Under the leadership of Nitish Kumar, the NDA performed well in Bihar,” the Prime Minister said.

Meanwhile, both Nitish Kumar and RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav are traveling to Delhi on the same flight, sparking political speculation. While Nitish Kumar will attend the NDA meeting, Tejashwi Yadav will participate in the INDIA bloc meeting being held in the capital.

With the BJP failing to secure a majority on its own this time, alleys are on the cards as efforts to form the new Central government intensify. The INDIA bloc has also called a meeting in Delhi today. In Bihar, the NDA won 30 out of 40 Lok Sabha seats, a loss of nine seats compared to 2019.

JDU national president and Chief Minister Nitish Kumar is once again emerging as a key figure in national politics. His party won 12 seats in Bihar, while LJP(Ram Vilas) chief Chirag Paswan achieved a clean sweep, winning all 5 seats his party contested. Chirag Paswan has already announced unconditional support for PM Modi and the BJP.

Nitish Kumar held a discussion with Samrat Chaudhary on June 4:

On June 4, the Chief Minister held discussions with Deputy Chief Minister Samrat Chaudhary and senior JDU leaders.

Following Tuesday’s results, speculation has surged regarding Nitish Kumar’s future political moves. Sources claim that senior leaders from the INDIA bloc have reached out to him, including individuals close to Sonia Gandhi.

There are also unconfirmed reports that the INDIA bloc may offer him the post of Deputy Prime Minister.

Responding to these speculations, JDU MLC Neeraj Kumar said: “During the run-up to the Lok Sabha polls, people claimed JDU’s role would end and Nitish Kumar’s political relevance would disappear.

People may love him or hate him, but no one can deny his importance. He is widely regarded as a model of governance.

We are an NDA alliance partner, and our top leadership will decide the next course of action.’

When asked about the possibility of switching alliances. Neeraj Kumar said: “They are under pressure after the result, which is why they are making such claims.”
