Multiple raids of the ED on the SP Singla Group.

Patna, July 19, 2024: Multiple teams of the ED conducted raids at the offices and residences of the SP Singla Construction Pvt Ltd in Patna, Delhi and Panchkula on Friday.

ED conducted multiple raids:

A team of ED officials reached the office of SP Singla Constructions Pvt Ltd in Patna’s posh Boring Road area and conducted the raid.

Sources have said that this action follows previous raids on the properties of IAS officer Sanjeev Hans and former MLA Gulab Yadav, where ED officials have seized valuables and expensive watches worth crores of rupees and some important documents. The source further said that the top officials of SP Singla Constructions Pvt Ltd have close links with Sanjeev Hans, which prompted this raid.

During the raid on the premises of Sanjeev Hans, the ED sleuths reportedly found some documents that established his links with the SP Singla Constructions Pvt Ltd.

ED investigation:

Sources have said that when Sanjeev Hans was the MD of Bihar Rajya Pul Nirman Nigam Limited (BRPNNL), he allegedly awarded the contracts for many bridge projects to SP Singla Constructions Pvt Ltd.

In return, the company had reportedly provided financial benefits to Sanjeev Hans, and ED officials have found evidence of these financial transactions.

Sources have said that in the multiple raids at Sanjeev Hans’s residence in Patna and Pune, the ED officials seized 40 expensive watches and other documents, including a diary having many names of senior officials and journalists of print and electronic media of Patna mentioned in it.

These individuals are now under the lens of ED officials, and they might be served notices for questioning as part of the ongoing investigation.

Earlier on Tuesday, multiple teams of ED conducted raids on Sanjeev Hans and Gulab Yadav in Jhanjharpur, Patna and Pune.

The SP Singla Constructions Pvt Ltd hit the headlines following a bridge that collapsed in Aguwanighat in Khagaria district last year. The bridge was built on the Ganga River connecting Khagaria and Bhagalpur districts.
