Patna, April 12, 2024: RJD Rajya Sabha MP and Patliputra Lok Sabha candidate Misa Bharti on Friday clarified that her recent comments about Prime Minister Narendra Modi were “misinterpreted and twisted” by the media.

She said her full statement was not published, and the context was deliberately omitted.

Speaking to reporters in Patna, Misa Bharti said, “I had only stated that the Supreme Court had declared electoral bonds unconstitutional. If the INDI Alliance forms the government at the Centre, we will initiate an inquiry into the issue and punish the culprits. But my statement was presented in a misleading way.”

Misa Bharti alleged the BJP of misusing agencies:

Misa Bharti alleged that BJP leaders were “misusing central agencies like the ED and CBI against opposition leaders” instead of addressing core issues.

“The Prime Minister is not raising real issues like unemployment and inflation,” she added.

Misa Bharti accused the media:

She also accused a section of the media of “running agendas” against opposition parties.

On Thursday, while campaigning in Maner under Patliputra constituency, she had remarked, “They (BJP leaders) accuse us of corruption and dynastic politics. But who will answer about electoral bonds? If the INDI alliance comes to power, PM Modi and other BJP leaders will go to jail. We are talking about farmers’ welfare, doubling their income, and implementation of MSP, but the Prime Minister is busy blaming us for appeasement.”
