New Delhi, May 13, 2026: The International School Sports Organization (ISSO) has signed a strategic Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the DP World Professional Golf Tour of India in New Delhi to promote and develop golf within India’s international school ecosystem.

The partnership is aimed at introducing structured golf pathways for students through awareness programs, grassroots participation, talent identification, and exposure to professional standards in the sport.

ISSO and DP World PGTI are focusing on grassroots development and training:

As part of the collaboration, DP World PGTI will extend comprehensive support to ISSO-affiliated schools by providing technical expertise and certified coaches, interaction with professional golfers, workshops on golf fundamentals and etiquette, and structured junior golf development programs.

Speaking on the initiative, ISSO Director Aakanksha Thapak said the organization is committed to building meaningful sporting ecosystems for students across international schools.

She highlighted that golf instils essential life values such as discipline, patience, integrity, and focus, qualities that extend beyond the sport itself.

The partnership aims to make golf more accessible and provide structured opportunities for students to learn, compete, and grow.

Co-Director Gaurav Dixit echoed similar sentiments, stating that ISSO is continuously working to introduce students to sports that broaden opportunities and contribute to character development.

He added that the collaboration with PGTI will help bring golf closure to young athletes in an engaging and structured manner.

Strengthening India’s golf ecosystem:

Amandeep Johl, CEO of DP World PGTI, welcomes the partnership, emphasizing the importance of introducing golf at the school level for long-term growth.

He stated that the initiative will help inspire more young students to take up golf and benefit from the opportunities the sport offers.

ISSO, recognized by the International School Sport Federation and affiliated with the School Games Federation of India, continues to work toward creating globally aligned sporting pathways for student-athletes.

The MoU reflects a shared commitment by both organizations to foster a strong sporting culture, expand participation in golf, and provide meaningful development opportunities for young athletes across India.
