Patna May 6: A day after Bahubali leader Anant Singh was released on the 15 days parole, CM Nitish Kumar appreciated him during the rally in Pandarak block under Munger Lok Sabha constituency on Monday.
Anant Singh’s wife and Mokama MLA Neelam Devi was present on the stage when Nitish Kumar appreciated him.
“I have an old relationship with her husband (Anant Singh). His father used to come regularly to meet my father. He also respected me a lot,” Kumar said.
“In between, I went to the other side (Grand Alliance) twice. I made mistakes. When I realized that those people were involved in wrongdoings to earn money, I returned to the old alliance. We or the leaders of BJP never do nepotism in politics. I always said that the people of the entire Bihar are my family,” Kumar said.
Anant Singh was convicted in an arms act case and the MP-MLA court of Patna sentenced him to 10 years imprisonment. The home ministry of the Bihar government approved his parole for 15 days. Following that, he came out from Patna’s Beur jail on the direction of the court on Sunday morning.
The battle of Munger has been intensified after the arrival of Anant Singh. Lalan Singh, the JD-U candidate is contesting against RJD candidate Anita Devi, the wife of another Bahubali leader Ashok Mahto in Munger. The contest will turn out between two Bahubali leaders in Munger as Anant Singh is supporting Lalan Singh in this election.
Anant Singh was seen in the Munger Lok Sabha constituency on Monday morning. He said: “Lalan Singh will win the Lok Sabha election with the margin of 5 lakh votes.”
Ashok Mahto is extensively campaigning for his wife Anita Devi in the Munger Lok Sabha constituency. He married Anita Devi just before the election to bring his wife to the fray of this Lok Sabha election.
Apart from Munger, the Lok Sabha election in the fourth phase will be held in Darbhanga, Ujiyarpur, Samastipur (SC Reserved) and Begusarai on May 13.
