BLA training intensifies ahead of Bihar assembly elections 2025.
Patna, May 19, 2025: As part of the preparations for the upcoming Bihar assembly elections 2025, the training of Booth Level Agents (BLAs) of recognized national and state political parties is being conducted at Jagjivan Ram Parliamentary Studies and Political Research Institute, Sardar Patel Marg, Patna on Monday.
The initiative is being undertaken under the guidance of Chief Electoral Officer Vinod Singh Gunjiyal.
The fifth phase of the training program was successfully completed on Monday, with the participation of 158 Blas from the districts of Siwan, Saran, Bhagalpur and Banka.
Focus areas of the BLA’s training:
During the sessions, national-level master trainers and senior election officials provided in-depth knowledge on several crucial aspects of the electoral process.
The BLAs were given training in understanding and updating the Electoral Roll (E-roll), an overview of the brief revision process and its timeline, roles and responsibilities of the Electoral Registration Officer (ERO) and Assistant ERO, appointment and duties of Booth Level Agents (BLAs) and Booth Level Officers (BLOs), functions of election agents, polling agents, and counting agents.
The sessions were conducted by experienced trainers, including Rajendra Karmashil, Sanjay Kumar Mishra, Devvrat Mishra, Deputy Chief Election Officer Ratnambar Nilay, Deputy Election Officer Shri Manoj Kumar Singh, Election Officer Nivedita Sinha and Junior Election Officer Shri Prem Prakash.
A question-and-answer session marked the conclusion of the training, where participants’ doubts were addressed to enhance their understanding and efficiency.
Progress so far and upcoming training:
With this phase, a total of 764 BLAs have been trained in five phases. The sixth phase of the training is scheduled for May 21, 2025, where agents from Begusarai, Khagaria, Munger, Lakhisarai, Sheikhupura, Jamui and Nalanda districts will be trained.
This initiative aims to strengthen transparency, participation, and efficiency in the electoral process ensuring a fair and informed democratic exercise in Bihar.
