Training of BLA (Booth Level Agents) begins in Patna ahead of assembly elections 2025.

Patna, May 10, 2025: In preparation for the upcoming Bihar Assembly General Elections 2025, a comprehensive training program for BLA of nationally and state-recognized political parties commenced on Saturday at the Jagjivan Ram Parliamentary Studies and Political Research Institute, located on Sardar Patel Marg in Patna.

The training, initiated under the guidance of Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) Vinod Singh G May 26, runs from 10:30 AM to 5:30 PM.

BLA’s crucial role in elections:

The Inaugural session was addressed by Deputy Chief Electoral Officer Ashok Priiyadarshi, who emphasized the crucial role of booth-level agents in ensuring free, fair, and transparent elections.

“BLAs are an integral part of the electoral process, acting as the bridge between political parties and election authorities at the grassroots level,” Priyadarshi stated.

Booth-level agents from districts including East Champaran, West Champaran, Shivhar, and Sitamarhi were present on the opening day of the training.

On the first day, the participants received in-depth training on several key topics like

Overview of the Electoral Roll (E-Roll) and its significance, the summary revision process of electoral rolls, roles and responsibilities of Electoral Registration Officers (ERO) and Assistant Electoral Registration Officers (AERO), duties and conduct expected from Booth Level Agents (BLA), functions of Booth Level Officers (BLO) and coordination with election stakeholders and understanding the role of Election Agents, Polling Agents, and Counting Agents.

Expert trainers lead the program:

The sessions were led by experienced national and state-level master trainers, including Ashok Priyadarshi, Manoj Kumar Singh, Rajendra Karmashil, Sanjay Kumar Mishra, Devvrat Mishra, Priyanka Sinha and Shikha Sinha.

Also present were State Medical Nodal Officer Kapil Sharma and Public Relations Officer Ranjit Ranjan.

The training concluded with an interactive question-answer session, where participants’ doubts were addressed by the trainers.

This initiative represents a key step by the Election Commission towards building electoral awareness, strengthening institutional coordination, and empowering political party representatives.

It underscores the commitment to conduct transparent and credible elections in Bihar.
