Prashant Kishor will launch a political party on Wednesday.
Patna, October 1, 2024: Prashant Kishor, the brain behind the Jan Suraj Campaign, is all set to officially launch his political party on October 2 (Tomorrow).
Born in a Brahmin family in Rohtas district of Bihar, Prashant Kishor is positioning his party as a fresh political alternative, moving beyond the state’s long-standing caste-based politics.
Known for his expertise in election management, Prashant Kishor laid the groundwork for his political movement two years ago with a Patyatra (Foot March) from Bhitiharwa Gandhi Ashram in West Champaran district.
Originally aiming to cover 35,000 km in Bihar, Prashant Kishor extended his goal to 45,000 km but he has already completed more than 55,000 km and it is not finished yet. His march had focused on North Bihar’s Champaran, Tirhut and Kosi divisions and he is about to enter Araria in the Seemanchal region.
He has covered West Champaran, East Champaran, Gopalganj, Siwan, Saran, Muzaffarpur, Samastipur, Darbhanga, Madhubani, Sitamarhi, Sheohar, Madhepura, and Supaul. He plans to enter Araria after October 2, following the official party launch.
Prashant Kishor’s Jan Suraj Campaign is set to transform into a political party on October 2, 2024, marking exactly two years since the movement’s inception.
According to a highly placed source within Jan Suraj, the decision to form the political stems from the strong support of those who have joined Kishor during his Padyatra.
On Wednesday, a mega event will be held at the Veterinary College Ground in Patna, where Kishor will formally announce the party’s name, constitution and the 25-member leadership team including the party president.
Despite founding the party, Prashant Kishor has stated he will not hold any formal position, choosing instead to continue his Padyatra, which is nearing completion in Supaul district and will soon move into Araria.
