Gurugram, May 23, 2026: Haryana’s Industries and Commerce Minister Rao Narbir Singh on Saturday laid the foundation stones for 27 development projects worth more than Rs 28 crore across wards 3, 4, and 6 under the Municipal Corporation of Gurugram, giving a fresh push to civic infrastructure and urban development works in Gurugram.

Addressing residents after inaugurating the projects, Rao Narbir Singh said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini, both the Centre and the state government are focused on ensuring the rapid implementation of public welfare schemes.

He stressed that the government’s priority is not only announcing projects but also completing them within a fixed timeframe so that citizens receive direct benefits.

Rao Narbir Singh says rural and urban infrastructures are the government’s priority:

The minister said the infrastructure strengthening in both urban and rural regions remains a key priority, with works related to roads, sewerage, drainage, drinking water supply, electricity, and sanitation being implemented on a fast-track basis to improve the quality of life for residents.

Highlighting the long-pending waterlogging issue in Dharmpur village and adjoining areas, Rao Narbir Singh said the Haryana government is working seriously toward a permanent solution.

He added that he is personally coordinating with both the Delhi government and the Central government to resolve the matter and reclaim the affected land. He further said the government plans to transform the area into a developed tourist destination with facilities such as picnic spots, parking areas, shopping zones, and other recreational amenities.

According to him, the initiative is expected to boost local development while also creating employment opportunities for residents.

Rao Narbir Singh appealed for environmental protection:

Appealing for environmental protection, the minister urged citizens to stop using polythene and actively participate in plantation drives during the monsoon season.

He said public participation is essential for building a clean and green environment.

In Ward No. 3, development works worth around Rs 2,24 crore were launched.

These include parking development and market beautification in Sector-21, construction of CC roads along Carterpuri Firni, new drainage channels, RCC drains, and footpath from Chhippi Colony to Old Delhi Road, sewer line cleaning, water supply line installation, and construction of internal lanes.

These projects are expected to improve traffic management, sanitation, drainage, and civic infrastructure in the area.

For Ward No. 4, projects worth nearly Rs 11.03 crore were initiated. The works include replacement of stormwater drainage lines, renovation of public parks, construction of sewerage systems and roads, installation of rainwater harvesting systems, tube wells, community centers, and strengthening of drainage infrastructure to improve civic amenities for local residents.

Meanwhile, in Ward No. 6, projects worth approximately Rs 15 crore were launched in Dharmpur village.

The works include laying water supply pipelines in Daulatabad village, construction of a stabilized road between Dharmpur and Kherki Majra road connectivity projects linking Dharmpur with the cremation ground and Babupur village, and development of “Atal Park” in Dharmpur.

These initiatives are expected to significantly improve road connectivity and drinking water infrastructure in the region.

Among those present during the event were Gurugram Mayor Raj Rani Malhotra, Ward 6 Councillor Satpal Singh Daulatabad, Ward 3 Councillor Rakesh Yadav, Ward 4 Councillor Pradeep, and several local dignitaries.
