New Delhi, May 12, 2026: In a major step toward improving governance and urban development, the Delhi Development Authority (DDA) has launched a Single Window Clearance System under its Online Building Permit System (OBPS), aimed at making building approvals in Delhi faster, more transparent and citizen-friendly.

The initiative aligns with the vision of Prime Minister Narendra Modi to promote Ease of Doing Business and Ease of Living, and follows directives from Delhi’s Lieutenant Governor Taranjit Singh Sandhu.

The DDA initiative aims to tackle red tape and delays:

The move comes in response to long-standing concerns over bureaucratic delays, corruption complaints, and unnecessary procedural hurdles in building approvals.

The Lieutenant Governor had earlier flagged these issues and directed authorities to implement a streamlined system at the earliest.

The Single Window Clearance System offers a fully digital and integrated platform for online submission of building plans and documents, processing of multiple No Objection Certificates (NOCs0 through one interface, real-time tracking of application status, online fee payments, and digitally signed approvals without repeated office visits.

This eliminates the need for multiple departmental interactions and reduces physical visits to DDA offices.

Powered by advanced technology:

The system incorporates modern technological tools such as AI-powered plan scrutiny, automated compliance checks, Geo-tagged mobile inspections, and instant SMS and email notifications.

These features are expected to significantly reduce manual intervention, minimize errors, and enhance efficiency and accountability.

A step toward smart governance:

Officials say the initiatives mark a significant milestone in modernizing Delhi’s urban planning framework through technology-driven governance reforms.

The new system is expected to improve transparency in approvals, speed of service delivery, and ease for citizens, architects, and developers.

The Lieutenant Governor’s office, along with senior DDA officials, will regularly review the system’s performance to ensure effective implementation and continuous improvement.
