Patna, February 7, 2026: Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on Saturday said that milk production committees have been constituted in 25,593 villages across the state as part of the government’s efforts to strengthen the dairy sector and ensure fair prices for livestock farmers.
Sharing the update on social media platform X, the Chief Minister said the initiative is being implemented under the third phase of the seven Resolutions (Seven Resolutions-3) titled “Progress in Agriculture-prosperity in the State.”
“A decision has been taken to establish milk production committees in every village of the state to promote the dairy industry and ensure that livestock farmers receive a fair price for their milk,” Kumar said.
He added that committees have already been formed in 25,593 of the state’s 39,073 villages, and instructions have been issued to the Animal Husbandry and Fisheries Resources Department to cover all remaining villages within the next two years.
“This will increase the income of livestock farmers and boost milk availability in the state,” the Chief Minister said.
Sudha milk sales centres to reach all Panchayats:
Highlighting another major step, Kumar said that under Seven Resolution-2, Sudha milk sales centres were established in all blocks of the state.
Now, under Seven Resolutions-3, the government has decided to expand these centres to all panchayats as well.
At present, Sudha milk sales centres are operational in 100 out of 8,053 panchayats.

The Chief Minister said instructions have been issued to open centres in the remaining 7,953 panchayats by the end of the financial year 2026-27.
Importantly, the new Sudha milk sales centres at the panchayat level will be allotted on a priority basis to Jeevika Didis, beneficiaries under the Chief Minister’s Women Employment Scheme, to promote women entrepreneurship in rural Bihar.
Boost to rural economy and employment:
The Chief Minister said the expansion of the dairy sector would generate local employment opportunities, increase rural incomes and ensure better availability of milk and dairy products.
“The growth of the dairy business will strengthen the rural economy and bring prosperity to the people of the state,” he said.
