Patna, February 2, 2026: The Budget session of the Bihar Assembly will begin on February 2 and continue until February 27, spanning 19 days according to the official notification issued by the Assembly secretariat.
On the opening day, Bihar governor Arif Mohammad Khan will address both Houses jointly in the Central Hall at 11.30 AM, after the proceedings begin at 11.00 AM.
The economic survey report will be tabled on the first day.
The House proceedings will conclude with a condolence motion.
The budget session will be held for 19 days:
On February 3, Finance Minister Bijendra Prasad Yadav will present the state budget for the financial year 2026-27.
The same day will also witness discussions on the motion of thanks to the Governor’s address.
The government will present the main budget along with the third supplementary budget during the session.
The Bihar government had tabled an estimated Budget of Rs 3.16895.02 crore in the Assembly for the financial year 2025-26.
Discussions will be held on demand for grants, followed by voting.

A state bill will also be introduced during the session.
Except for the first day, Question Hour, and Calling Attention Motions will be held for 18 days, during which ministers will respond to members’ queries in this budget session. .
As per the schedule, two days have been allocated for discussion, nine days for departmental budget demands, two days for government bills, and two days for private members’ resolutions.
Political numbers in the Bihar Assembly:
The ruling NDA enters the budget session in a commanding position with 202 MLAs.

In contrast, the opposition appears numerically weak, with the Grand Alliance holding 35 seats, AIMIM five, and BSP one, taking the total opposition strength to 41 members.
