Tejashwi Yadav on job appointment: We don’t need credit, just employment for Bihar’.

Patna February 5, 2025: Former Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Tejashwi Yadav has responded to the distribution of appointment letters in Bihar, asserting that the groundwork for these jobs was laid during his 17-month tenure in government.

Tejashwi Yadav claims the work was done by us:

When asked about the job appointments, Tejashwi remarked.

“We were in power for 17 months, there would be some benefit. The 3.50 lakh jobs that are under process today were approved by us. All the necessary posts were created in our cabinet. Now, let them take all the credit we don’t care. What matters is that the people of Bihar get employment. “This statement comes in contrast to his earlier stance, where he would openly take credit for job creation in his public speeches.

Previously, Tejashwi Yadav had consistently emphasized that his leadership facilitated over 5 lakh government jobs within a short period of 17 months, with an additional 3.5 lakh jobs in process before the Model Code of Conduct temporarily halted recruitment.

However, in his latest remarks, he downplayed the need for recognition, saying that the government should focus on delivering employment rather than competing for credit.

Tejashwi Yadav’s past claims on job creation:

During his tenure as Deputy CM, Tejashwi repeatedly highlighted that he had scientifically demonstrated to Chief Minister Nitish Kumar and senior officials how over  lakhs government jobs could be sanctioned.

He pointed out that Nitish Kumar himself had once dismissed the feasibility of such large-scale employment, questioning where the funds would come from.

However, once in government together, Tejashwi claims he was able to convince Nitish and his administration that these jobs were possible.

Tejashwi Yadav’s employment promise played a crucial role in his electoral success during the last Lok Sabha elections, where his party, the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD), performed well. Now, with the 2025 assembly elections approaching, his toned-down stance on job creation raises questions about his current strategy.

While Tejashwi insists that his focus is on ensuring employment rather than claiming credit, his remarks are also seen as a political taunt aimed at the current Bihar government for taking full credit for the job appointments.
