Patna, September 22, 2026: Bihar Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary reviewed projects worth more than Rs 100 crore being implemented under the Bihar Gati initiative, along with other centrally sponsored and state government schemes, at his official residence, Lok Sevak Aawas, on Tuesday.
During the review meeting, the progress of key projects under the road construction, water resources, industries and solar welfare departments was examined in detail.
Senior officials, including Road Construction Department secretary Pankaj Kumar Pal, Water Resource Department Secretary Dr. Chandrashekhar Singh, and Industries Department Secretary Vinod Singh Gunjiyal, briefed the Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary on the status of the projects implemented by the respective departments.
Samrat Choudhary directed officials to accelerate the execution of development projects and ensure their completion within the stipulated timelines.
He stressed the need for regular monitoring, better coordination among departments and strict attention to the quality of work.
Samrat Choudhary directed officials about the four-laning of key road corridors:
While reviewing the Sultanganj-Tarapur-Sangrampur-Belhar-Katoria-Chandan-Dardmara road project, Samrat Choudhary directed officials to prepare a detailed plan for upgrading the 0.0-km to 40.0-km stretch to four lanes.
He also directed that a four-lane road be constructed between Belhar and Darmara.
Officials were asked to expedite the necessary procedures and prepare a comprehensive plan, taking into account project requirements and future traffic needs.
Samrat Choudhary also reviewed the drinking water supply schemes for Aurangabad, Sasaram, and Dehri, under which surface water fro Son River will be used to meet drinking water requirements.
He directed officials to continuously monitor the project’s progress and quality and ensure that it is completed within the prescribed deadline.
While reviewing the construction of a barrage on the Kamla River in Jaynagar, Madhubani district, Samrat Choudhary directed officials to expedite the project and complete all necessary procedures within the stipulated timeframe.
During the review of industry development schemes, Samrat Choudhary directed officials to launch the integrated Manufacturing Cluster (IMC) in Gaya, being developed under the Amritsar-Kolkata Industrial Corridor, in the second week of October.
The Gaya IMC is expected to attract investments of around Rs 20,000 crore in Bihar.
The meeting also discussed the proposed solarisation of canals and rivers embankments across South Bihar.
Samrat Choudhary directed officials to ensure that all pending honorariums of Anganwadi workers and other associated staff are cleared before Durga Puja.
Departments asked to monitor projects regularly:
Samrat Choudhary said projects worth more than Rs 100 crore under the Bihar Gati initiative are important for strengthening Bihar’s infrastructure and supporting the state’s overall development.
He said the timely execution of the projects would strengthen facilities in sectors including roads, drinking water, irrigation, industrial development, energy and social welfare.
