Rajesh Kumar claimed raising public issues is his priority ahead of the assembly poll 2025.

Patna March 22, 2025: Rajesh Kumar, a two-term MLA from Kutumba in Aurangabad district, expressed his gratitude towards the party’s central leadership, including Rahul Gandhi and Mallikarjun Kharge on Saturday.
Rajesh Kumar emphasized his commitment to addressing public interest issues in Bihar.
He stated, “ There is less time for the elections; now we will go out in Bihar with public interest issues and we will go to the election field with public interest issues.’’
Rajesh Kumar was recently become state president of Bihar:
Rajesh Kumar has been recently appointed as the president of the Bihar Pradesh Congress Committee (BPCC), succeeding Akhilesh Prasad Singh.

This strategic move by the Congress Party aims to strengthen its position ahead of the upcoming Bihar Assembly elections.
Upon his arrival at the party headquarters, sadaqat Ashram, Kumar received a warm welcome from fellow Congress leaders.

He paid respect by garlanding the statues of Mahatma Gandhi and Rajiv Gandhi.
Reflecting on his journey, Kumar becomes emotional, noting the transition from visiting the headquarters as an MLA to now leading the state unit.
Rajesh Kumar highlighted pressing issues such as unemployment and systematic corruption, pledging to bring these concerns to the forefront of the party’s agenda.
When questioned about the number of seats Congress plans to contest, he remarked, ‘’ the immediate focus is on public issues rather than seat distribution. We have an ambition to increase the party’s vote share by 24% in the state.’’
Changing phase for Congress’s state leadership:
The Congress party has been restricting its leadership in Bihar, with recent appointments like Krishna Allavaru as the new All India Congress Committee (AICC) in charge of the state.
Additionally, leaders like Kanhaiya Kumar have been actively engaging at the grassroots level to bolster the party’s presence.

Kumar’s appointment is also viewed as a strategic move to reduce the influence of Rashtriya Janta Dal (RJD) chief Lalu Prasad over the state party unit, as his predecessors were known to be close to Lalu.
