The Bihar Diwas 2025 event was inaugurated by CM Nitish Kumar in Patna.

Patna March 22, 2025: Bihar Diwas 2025 celebrations began with great enthusiasm at Patna’s Gandhi Maidan on Saturday evening as Chief Minister Nitish Kumar inaugurated the event by lighting a ceremonial lamp.
This year marks 113 years since the formation of Bihar, which was separated from Bengal on 22 March 1912. The celebrations will run from March 22 to 26.
Highlights of Bihar Diwas 2025:
The five-day event features various cultural programs, food stalls, and exhibitions showcasing Bihar’s traditional crafts.
The highlights include classical dance performances, a kavi sammelan
(Poetry gathering), health check-ups, and performances by senior bureaucrats, all aiming to celebrate and promote Bihar’s cultural heritage and development efforts.

Beyond the capital, festivities are underway in cities like Muzaffarpur, Purnea Bhagalpur, Madhepura, and Gaya, reflecting the statewide enthusiasm for the occasion.
The celebration extends globally, with the Bihar Foundation of USA organizing events in New York, featuring cultural programs, guest speakers, and traditional Bihari cuisine, underscoring the pride of the diaspora in their roots.
During the inauguration, CM Nitish Kumar, Deputy CMs Samrat Chaudhary and Vijay Sinha, and other cabinet ministers were present.

On the day, leaders including President Draupadi Murmu, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, and Governor Arif Mohammad Khan extended their wishes to the people of Bihar, acknowledging the state’s historical significance and contributions to the nation. Cultural Programs during Bihar Diwas:
The event will showcase theatrical performances and traditional shows at Ravindra Bhawan, Sri Krishna Memorial Hall, and Premchand Ranhshala.
Drama festival on women’s themes will be played at Premchand Rangshala.

Street plays highlight societal issues during the event.
The state government will also organize a performance by playback singer Abhijeet Bhattacharya, expected to capture audiences.
