Nitish Kumar inaugurated 52 projects including a medical college in Saran to bolster healthcare.

Patna January 8, 2025: Chief Minister Nitish Kumar visited Saran district on Wednesday as part of the second phase of his Pragati Yatra, inaugurating and laying the foundation stone for 52 development projects worth Rs 985 crores on Wednesday.
One of the major milestones of the visit was the inauguration of the much-anticipated medical college for the Saran division, a crucial step toward enhancing healthcare accessibility.
The project is expected to alleviate the burden on residents, particularly those from economically weaker sections, by reducing their reliance on healthcare facilities in Patna and other distant cities.
Nitish Kumar announced and inaugurated various projects aimed at improving local infrastructure and amenities, including- renovation of Anganwadi centres, beautification and construction of Chhath Ghats at Belahi Pokhara, road repairs and tap water system restoration, construction of platforms, playgrounds, and rural markets under the MNREGA scheme, development of nutrition gardens and tree plantation initiatives to promote sustainability.
Nitish Kumar announced road Infrastructure for Ekma:
The Chief Minister addressed long-standing traffic issues by announcing the widening of two critical road projects as Ekma-Dumadgarh (10 km) road and the Ekma-Masrakh road.
These projects are expected to improve connectivity and resolve traffic congestion, earning widespread appreciation from the residents of Ekma.
Review meeting on the progress of schemes:
At the Collectorate Auditorium, Nitish Kumar conducted a review meeting to assess the implementation of ongoing government schemes. He provided actionable guidelines to ensure their timely and efficient execution.
Nitish Kumar’s proactive engagement with Saran through initiatives like the medical college and local infrastructure development has significantly boosted public support for his leadership.
These measures are also seen as part of the government’s efforts to consolidate its position ahead of the 2025 assembly elections.
To ensure the safety of the Chief Minister and the smooth execution of events, comprehensive security arrangements were implemented from the district headquarters to all program venues.
