Mangani Lal Mandal gave a big jolt to JDU after joining RJD ahead of the assembly poll 2025.

Patna January 17, 2025: In a significant political development ahead of the Bihar assembly elections, former JDU MP Mangani Lal Mandal joined the Rashtriya Janata Dal RJD on Friday, marking a major setback for the ruling party.
RJd leader Tejashwi Yadav formally welcomed Mangani Lal Mandal into the party, offering him membership during a ceremony.
Tejashwi expressed happiness after Manani Lal Mandal left JDU:
On this occasion, Tejashwi Yadav expressed his happiness at Mandal’s return, calling it a positive development for the party.
“It is a matter of happiness that Mangani Lal Mandal, who is our guardian and my father’s associate, has joined the party again. His experience will benefit us personally and help elevate socialism in Bihar,” Yadav said.
He also emphasized that Mandal would be given an important role within the party.
“With his coming, socialist youth like us will be able to elevate socialism in Bihar with his experience. He will be entrusted with important responsibilities, and this is a Ghar Wapsi for him,” Yadav added.
Magani Lal Mandal criticizes JDU and praises RJD leadership:
After joining RJD, Mangani Lal Mandal expressed his contentment about returning to his “old home,” emphasizing his long-standing association with party founder Lalu Yadav.
“Lalu Yadav has been our leader, and we have been allies. Jannayak ended in Lalu Yadav’s lap,” Mandal said, referencing his deep connection with the RJd leadership.
Mangani Lal Mandal, who served as vice president and secretary at JDU for five years, criticized the party for side-lining him and disregarding his contributions, he claimed that despite his efforts, the JDU leadership ignored him.
“I was feeling suffocated in the last five years in JDU. The JDU party, especially the backward caste leaders, has no scope. They are being side-lined. JDU has been reduced to 3 and a half people. This is the character of the JDU party,” Mandal stated.
Mandal also praised Tejashwi Yadav’s leadership, highlighting key initiatives like the caste survey and job creation in Bihar.
“The caste survey in Bihar was done on the initiative of Tejashwi Yadav, and jobs were also provided in Bihar thanks to his efforts,” Mandal added.
This move by Mandal is expected to further shift the political landscape in Bihar, with RJD gaining a significant ally while JDU faces a loss of a key leader ahead of crucial elections.
