Patna July 8: Twelve people died due to lightning strikes across seven districts in Bihar on Monday.
According to an official, three people have died in Jamui, three in Kaimur, two in Rohtas, one in Saharsa, one in Saran, one in Bhojpur and one in Gopalganj.
Chief Minister Nitish Kumar has expressed his deep condolences to the families of the deceased and directed district officials to provide compensation of Rs 4 lakh to each affected family.
He assured the families of his support during this difficult time and urged the public to remain vigilant during adverse weather conditions.
The situation highlights the severity of lightning strikes in the region and the need for increased awareness and preventive measures during bad weather.
In July this year, 45 people lost their lives due to lightning strikes in various districts of Bihar.
On July 1, 2 people died in Aurangabad, 1 in Buxar, 1 in Bhojpur, 1 in Rohtas, 1 in Bhagalpur and 1 in Darbhanga.
On July 3, 1 person died in Bhagalpur, 1 in East Champaran, 1 in Darbhanga and 1 in Nawada.
On July 6, 3 people died in Jahanabad, 2 in Madhepura, 1 in East Champaran, 1 in Rohtas, 1 in Saran and 1 in Supaul.
On July 7, 5 persons died in Kaimur, 3 in Nawada, 2 in Rohtas, and one each in Aurangabad, Jamui and Saharsa districts.
